The LLuèrnia festival, of fire and light in Olot, returns from November 10 to 12, 2022

The Lluèrnia festival returns after two editions fully affected by the pandemic returns this 2022 to its usual format

Lluèrnia is a proposal from Pim Pam Pum Fire!, the group of devils and street shows from Olot, which will act as host and programmer of the festival, in this first edition, under the artistic direction of Pep Fargas and the production and support from Olot City Council through the Institute of Culture of the City of Olot/Teatre Principal d'Olot. The design of the festival aims to conjure up several actions that are spectacular in their concept and participative in their implementation, convinced that this formula facilitates the general acceptance of the proposal, by transforming the spectators into protagonists.

Likewise, Lluèrnia is part of the current trend of festive events around fire and light, facilitated by the evolution of spectacular projection and lighting technology, and the conversion of pyrotechnic shows for reasons of safety legislation in shows. As references, despite accepting the differences in format, they could cite the "Fête des Lumieres" which is celebrated annually in Lyon (France), the Festival of Lights which for the first time this year has been incorporated into the Santa Festivities Eulàlia from Barcelona, the "Mapping Festival" in Ginebre (Switzerland)

One of the spirit of the Festival is to help the citizens of Olot rediscover new spaces and itineraries. It is for this reason that Lluèrnia, after exploring the banks of the Fluvià river or other places in the city, this year proposes an itinerary that will turn the Barri de Sant Miquel and its surroundings into the center of the festival.

Lluèrnia is a street festival that seeks new illuminations, new views on everyday space. New landscape spaces in the urban space will continue to be explored without concentrating all the proposals in the center of the city. Taking advantage of neighborhoods not frequented by cultural initiatives to program some of the facilities and activities must allow them to be visualized and appreciated as elements of our citizen landscape.

Lluèrnia will also place part of its activities in the center of Olot, either with previous actions or with installations located in the Hospice or in the Plaça Major, the starting point of the route, a route that will end in the Plaça de Sant Miquel, where the final show would take place.

So if visiting during the weekend of November 10 to 12 seems like a good plan... Remember to schedule your visit in advance and if you like we will be happy to accommodate you in our house.
